17 Aug Chianti Week Bike Tour: 10 Days and Counting!
Spectacular Cycling In Tuscany
No matter what our personal situation is, we can get used to our surroundings. At La Corsa, we spend a lot of time in Tuscany (cycling and eating mainly!), Chris our chief guide lives here and so sometimes the hills, the spectacular views, the local wine and the outstanding food become normal, dare we say…everyday. But for a certain number of very special weeks we get to experience all that Chianti can offer cyclists, as if for the very first time through the eyes of the guests on one of our guided bike tours.
Riding the White Roads and the route of The Giro
Whether it’s the uniqueness of riding the “strade bianche” or white roads near Siena, challenging ourselves on the famous Hour of Chianti segment on Strava, riding between the towns of Chianti on the route of the Giro D’Italia, or seeing the local Tuscan cyclists taking things very seriously, all of these things are firsts for most of our guests.
Chianti Week is coming
In just ten days, a group of cyclists will arrive in our villa in Borgo Sicelle ready to experience the La Corsa Chianti Week Tour. Between them Andy, the founder of La Corsa and Chris our guide, have ridden thousands of kilometres around Tuscany and distilled all the climbs, descents and panoramic roads into a week of rides that will challenge and inspire awe in equal measure. Stopping to take photos of Tuscan hill top towns is optional but we insist on stopping for an espresso at one of our selected coffee stops. It’s as much a part of cycling culture here as L’Eroica. Being surrounded and immersed in the cycling culture is what Tuscany is about. France may have Le Tour but it’s Italy that is the cultural home of cycling.
