THE LA CORSA EXPERIENCE – THE RIDE

The rolling hills of Tuscany are a central part of the LA CORSA experience. This terrain offers some of the best cycling in the world, including the remarkable roads and legendary climbs of the Strade Bianche. With different routes every day you can enjoy varied, challenging and inspiring cycling.

“Whether you’re looking to fire up the climbs or take in the sights and smells at a more moderate tempo, we’ll show you all the little things that make Tuscany the destination of choice for so many of the peloton’s top professionals.” — Andy Mackie, Tour Director, LA CORSA.

OUR MISSION

We Want Your LA CORSA EXPERIENCE to stimulate, refresh and inspire you. We Want you to enjoy cycling as  much as we do. We don’t want it to cost you the earth. The best bikes, accommodation, food, kit and service. LA CORSA HAS EVERYTHING COVERED. All at the best possible price. All you have to do is pedal.

The Bikes
The Bikes
De Rosa has been producing some of the finest examples of hand built frames from it’s workshop in Milan since 1953. The company is proud of its ability to construct racing frames in all four frame materials and has a long list of past champions who ride their bikes. Every De Rosa really is something very special and many cyclists spend their entire riding careers longing to own one. That’s why at La Corsa we only want the best for our guests.
The Food
The Food
We have the feeling that you might enjoy your food as much as we do. LA CORSA provide every meal, every day. And of course we provide great local wines for you to enjoy in the evening. We know you need to refuel, but we also know that eating is about so much more that that. LA CORSA is on a mission to take you to the best, most authentic, most satisfying trattoria and coffee stops Tuscany has to offer.
The Experience
The Experience
We pride ourselves on having a deep local knowledge and a passion for culture and cuisine, mixed with an innate understanding of a cyclist’s needs. When you travel with us, we’ll do all we can to show you how the natives really live.
The Guides
The Guides

Key to guiding is understanding the ability of the guests and making everyone feel happy at riding at their own pace. We pride ourselves on doing just that. Our guides also know the area like the back of their hand and are with you all the way to help give you a push when you need it most or translate the menu for you at the all important coffee stop.

The Knowledge
The Knowledge
Chianti is our second home. We know the area and have the knowledge built through years of living and riding in the area to take you to the most authentic places you wont find in the guide books. From dining out on hidden hill top towns to sampling local wines from the local area we will make you feel just like one of the locals.
The Clothing
The Clothing
When you tour with La Corsa we think it’s important that we make you look and feel the part. That’s why we give you your own personal rain bag with jersey, shorts, cap, socks. If you are going to ride on an Iconioc Italian De Rosa it’s important that we finish the look. Thanks to our friends at thecyclejersey this all comes part of the package.
The Leg Magicians
The Leg Magicians
To make your experience with us all the more pleasureable we can’t think of anything better than a beautiful rolling ride in the Chianti countryside followed by a hearty lunch and a soothing leg rub to flush away the efforts of the day both on and off the bike.

The Mechanics
The Mechanics
Having the best bike in the world doesn’t mean anything if it doesn’t work properly. With an on hand mechanic at our disposal we make sure our fleet of bikes are running perfectly for your stay. Each day they are tuned and washed in preperation for the following day.

who we are

ANDY MACKIE

A lover of cycling, Italy, fine food and wine, Andy created the LA CORSA experience, using his intimate knowledge of Tuscany. Andy prides himself on his local knowledge, from the best off-the-path stops for espresso con panna to the little bakery that serves the the sweetest torta. Once upon a time, Andy was well known for going quite quick on his bike, but then the others caught up. With decades of cycling experience as a racer and tour guide, he was into cycling before it became cool, racing alongside Bradley Wiggins and Chris Hoy… before the gold medals and knighthood. (Let’s be honest: he had an excellent view of their backsides before popping off the wheel.) Andy loves to share his passion for cycling and his experience, including all the special places, views, cafes and roads you won’t find in any guidebook.

CHRIS SMALL

A former professional squash player, Chris moved to Italy in 2007 to ride his bike in the best locale in the world. Suffering on a bike is his joy, and he can be found climbing the hills of Chianti seven days a week, whether guiding or riding alone. His cycling addiction is all-encompassing, and he’s always ready to discuss anything from the best-tasting sports gels to which café serves the strongest espresso. A tour guide in Tuscany, Chris is known throughout the area for his gravity-defying abilities on a bike; a Strava celebrity, he’s collected KOMs from well known pros on many of the most notable climbs. When not competing, Chris truly enjoys conversing with guests and sharing his knowledge and love of Italy. He’s never far away when anyone needs a push or a bottle — or wants to learn how he charmed an Italian beauty into becoming his wife.
